The Role of Leadership in Organizational Change

Organizational change is an inevitable fact in today's business world.

Many factors such as technological developments, Sunday conditions, competitive environment can force organizations to change.

At this point, leadership plays an important role in successfully managing organizational change.

Leadership is a critical factor in the processes of initiating, advancing and maintaining organizational change.

While determining the organization's need for change, leaders motivate employees by creating a vision and encourage them to develop innovative ideas.

In addition, leaders successfully advance the change process by managing the concerns and resistance of employees during the change process.

Research conducted in the literature also supports that leadership plays a critical role in organizational change.

According to a study, it has been observed that the ability of leaders to initiate and maintain organizational change positively affects organizational performance (Mullins, 2010).

However, leadership should be considered not only as a tool in organizational change, but also as a process.

Leaders should ensure that change is directed correctly by cooperating with employees and encourage active participation of employees in change.

In addition, leaders should manage the change process effectively by adhering to the principles of open communication, trust and transparency.

As a result, leadership plays a key role in organizational change.

Leaders motivate employees by creating a vision, cope with resistance and successfully direct change. Therefore, organizations can successfully manage change processes by investing in leadership development.
